Pocket PC Phone with Windows Mobile 5 Keeps Shutting Off

This doesn't happen enough to make me want to switch phones, but just enough to be annoying.  When I put it back on the cradle a lot of times, it turns the phone off.  Sometimes, if its clipped on to my belt, I'll look down and see that the phone is off, but I'll have no idea why.

Is there a "turn the phone off randomly" setting I'm not aware of?

Hey, I just got the new Sprint Pocket PC phone with windows mobile 5. The phone turns off, as in the screen and what not to preserve battery. It is more like a sleep mode. When you press the main on button, not the on button that activates by holding down the end call button, it comes back to life. What phone are you using? Not sure if this helps, but I hope it does.

there is a setting that allows you to confgure the device to turn off after a set amount of time when on battery power. i think the default is 3 minutes. but you can also disable this option which will probably be best for you.

take a look here start | settings | system | power | advanced

The red "hang up" button on the phone serves two purposes

1) hang a call2) turn the phone off

To turn the phone off, you must PRESS AND HOLD the red phone button. If you look closely at the red phone button, it has a power symbol on it.

I missed this too, at first and I complained about the phone randomly turning off.Just be careful when ending a call not to hold down the END CALL button.
